I am a woman on a mission. Have not officially started yet, so just putting out feelers..
Just Getting Started Earning an Online Income? Watch my progress:
1) After much research with all glowing reports, I joined Wealthy Affiliate. At a very reasonable $29.95 per month, they are basically the place that Adwords/PPC affiliate arbitrage happen. In addition to web hosting, they offer keyword tools, hand holding courses to cover all your bases, resources to compliment where your skills may be lacking (landing pages, etc.), and analytic tools to know which keywords are the earners. How do they *Rock*? They will they personally inspect your campaigns, and they have a FORUM where you can literally WITNESS the process of selecting a niche to a successful campaign completion. A real support group.Turns out I may not be using PPC as much as I anticipated with this new venture, but since the cost is a drop in the bucket for what they offer.. I am sticking around until I know for sure. They are down as we speak – will add the link soon..
2) The Make 20 thousand in 20 days.. Michael Green is a very competent marketer, and I understand the concept behind this. I have joined courses – from the public to the exclusive and each one loses me at the go write 1000 articles and report back next week phase.. ok thats an exaggeration, but I like to think I can make GREAT money without having to work THAT hard.. If I sound cliche’, well then I am! So making 20k in 20 days (or YOUR MONEY BACK!!) is too good to pass up, since it not only gives you the day by day plan, only expects a couple of part time hours from you, provides you with what is usually considered ‘the missing link’, (a product to put your name on), but also introduces you to a world you may not have been privvy to before.. and once you are in.. you should be able to repeat the process… again or your money back! Sounds like a no brainer to me.
3) We interrupt this for a Next Internet Millionaire Episode Six Review – I liked the immunity challenge a lot! Looked like loads of fun in the Colorado heatwave.. but the funny thing is that where Charles Trippy clearly was not even trying and it made sense that he ended up with $4, Laura Martin.. and others.. seemed to be struggling to get any attention, yet managed to sell about the pops for at least $1 or more.. It was so disappointing that they gave us Nico’s total, but failed to really show us HOW he did it! Luckily for me, I have his email, and will ask him how he managed to sell 20 popsicles for over $40!! Then.. Brad Fallon, SEO Darling, China Manufacturer, Huge Wedding Favor site owner, fellow Atlantan, and dishy IM’er took the stage to talk about something – someone please remind me.. and then somehow, I am not certain how the next task was related to what they learned and not only cuz I cant remember, but since at the time I wondered if I missed something. They did my thing and went to a Garage Sale.. well I really do Estate Sales, but still.. I have become skilled at knowing what has value and what not… although I dont typically deal with Middle America homes filled with the most random things you could possibly imagine, rather I know my tupperware and little tikes! My son figured that the contestants were calling home begging their family to drop their trust fund in Coca Cola Memorabilia or Sports Figurines…but I was thinking NDA.
So they uploaded their stuff to Ebay and headed for a night out on the town, thinking that we would rather watch them let down their guard and party then get eliminated. Well, since someone is going and that is inevitable, I say drink on your own time, and let the ax fall when I expect it to!
4) I already made an investment a while ago to join Rich-Jerks.com and I am sticking with it. This is NOT to be conused with The RICH JERK. In fact, Noah Fleming who runs this membership, is a really super above board guy. I never had the time necessary to really dig into what they offer or how they stand out from the crowd, but in addition to hosting, they are an endless supply of products. If you know what a WSO is.. they buy whatever is requested, so if you are a sucker for every product you lay your eyes on PLUS some.. this is for you. They have purchased more PLR (private label rights), MRR (Master Resale Rights) ebooks, graphics, etc.. that I could ever have what to do with… and it’s all current. However, some of it WILL be put to good use in this new venture.
5. I have money to spend.. but one thing I dont understand is why someone would unload tons of money for a unique website design. Find something you like, rip off the code, add a unique logo, change the colors, put your own content on it and voila! Here are some great resources I am using to get some of my websites up quickly. Often your needs will change – that is the time to spend the money. Now, when you want to make sure you are headed in the right direction, affordability is key. I am all for a first impression, but you check out these sites and tell me if they wont do the trick as far as that is concerned – better than some stuff I have outsourced! a. Templatebox
and b. TemplateMonster
Yes. It has been a few days since my last post. Yes I am way too busy to even give this post the ‘coverage’ it deserves.. Yes, if you are reading this in hopes to find out my review of The Next Internet Millionaire Episode 5, you will be rewarded..
however.. what is the ONE theme that you have picked up from this BLOG??
CORRECT!
Who will be the ONE to discover ANDREA YAGER??
Well my friends it is time to put the Pedal to the Medal and show what I am made of!
The Summary.. oh we will get into more later:
Lets say that I am a ‘start up’. I have an angel investor who is putting a lot of money (for me) in me and investing in ME with hopes that he will have made a wise choice (DUH!) and that he will earn back his investment + profits!
Said otherwise, I was not hired. I am not an employee. I am now the CEO of a new corporation. I selected the name and will have access to other available funds to be able to build my new business venture. The business plan is negotiable, since he is eager, open, and planning on taking my vast IM skills to leverage his current business model etc.. and see what becomes of it.
So dream come true? Yes!
Imagine someone gave you the funds to fly like a bird and soar? Imagine if someone offered you an equity share ALSO for doing that? Imagine if this person considers the people who clean your house a business expense since they help you be more productive?
So.. if you had to KNOCK SOMEONE’S SOCKS OFF.. and make a BOATLOAD of money in a short period of time, that would continue to build into a greater stream of money,
What would YOU do?
I will Outsource like crazy.. so let me know if you have any skills to add to the mix and products we can promote!
For those tuning in.. if you scream your head off loud enough, someone will hear. This guy did not approach me through the channels I may have expected.. but once you become accustomed to thinking you are ‘all that’, it rubs off in ways you may not be able to predict or anticipate. TRUST ME on THIS ONE. Be Vocal. Grab a Backbone. And be discovered.
So speaking of people who missed the boat with their chance with me .. The Next Internet Millionaire Episode 5 was definitely the BEST so far. Meaning I think they nailed it this time for several reasons:
1) The immunity challenge allowed us to see some people shine. Not only did Nico’s book title shine, but do did his personality! There is a story of a famous Rabbi who went to the doctor with his wife since her foot was hurting, and when the doctor asked what is the matter, the Rabbi replied “Our foot hurts”. Nico Pisani personified that ‘I am not for myself if we am not for each other’, and definitely scored big points with all .. Go NICO You better be reading this
2) Team Challenge – ok, admittedly I was watching at some unG-dly hour and fell asleep during part of the speaker, but I think he is cute (which matters a lot to me since I’m shallow) and we were FINALLY able to see an execution in it’s entirety instead of just getting snippets of what they were trying to present. Except for the logo.. where there really was no competition. As others have mentioned, I too did not know which way Mr Comm would go. Although I was not completely surprised. Some people think he has a thing for Laura, I personally think he has it for Mr. Trippy.
3) Elimination – as much as I like some of the other contestants that were already knocked off.. they did NOT have their Game On, so each week was sort of them cleaning out the filter to get to the good stuff.. Now each contestant that is knocked off will probably have less and less of a good reason to be eliminated other than being in the wrong seat at the wrong time. I could tell Christine schaap was SHOCKED to be off the show, and sure they found some average reason to sacrifice her, but it was really a waste of time to talk about, since in reality there was no choice. Jaime Luchuck was secure, JC would have ‘no pun intended’ been crucified if he went after Nico, and how could he kick out Laura Martin when their team DID a good job, and she was just allowed back in the game.. and been on the line so many times.. so process of elimination. The logic will probably continue as such, with rising tensions, and more nitpicking backstabbing nonsense to make it make sense until the last is standing..
I dont know if you can tell but the only TV (via DVD on laptop) I have watched in the last several years has been a few seasons of 24, and the only Reality TV I have seen is a few episodes.. not seasons.. episodes of one American Idol, CharacterRoadTrip (who wouldnt watch those adorable twins ) and when I was visiting the states I watched a few episodes of ‘would my mom let me date you’ in the middle of the night. Love trashy US TV!! oh I take that back.. I have been forced to sit through a few episodes of Pimp my Ride and I cry every time. It’s really a GOOD show!
Well I may actually stop writing about the show, except it is giving me sooo much darn traffic! So I skipped 3, but on to episode 4…
So hey all you old forum friends.. will try not to insult you too terribly since I am a power player, and am here to network and yada yada….
HOWEVER..
HOWEVER..
Have you ALL lost your minds????
Over 10 minutes of this episode was spent on eating worms. YUCK!!
I have no problem with worm slugging if it’s part of what makes you different and yet not completely ‘out there’. Like I kinda believe Alisande that she is up for anything and would actually find herself in another situation where she would eat worms, with the stakes being MUCH less. Just for the experience. But here is the problem..
Do you want to JV with someone who would RATHER eat worms than do a task? I hear the other side that they would rather accomplish than surely fail, and they do look like they go down pretty smoothly.. but I would certainly hope Joel isnt calling a non worm eater an inappropriate JV partner.
Here is another thing and maybe its just me and my education.. but I kept remembering that afterschool special called ‘The Lottery” or similar, where someone picked a name out of a hat and they were selected to be stoned.. and as ludicrous as it was, everyone joined in.. like lambs to the slaughter… losing their sense of right or wrong. Not ONE person passed on the challenge. Actually a few people passed, but after seeing the rest follow suit, they too succumbed to the peer pressure. The one contestant who didnt eat the worms TRIED and got ‘brownie points’ for considering it. Would the individual who said an unequivocal ‘NO’ have received congratulations?
Some of you may or may not know why, but there is no question 100% absolutely that I would NOT have eaten those worms. The question I have for myself is Would I have felt bad? A failure? Probably.. I can be pretty pathetic sometimes ..
Marlon Sanders is the Guru of the week. I am a pretty big promoter of his items – in fact – if you look to the right of this blog under top picks, his items are 4 out of the 5 items listed there. You want to know how to build a website from scratch? Point and click web building.. etc.. check them out.
The execution challenge was to create a product, and discuss the marketing plan. They were also using NINJA terms we were not privvy too like plank or flank .. again.. I know you were giving them a limited amount of time to perform a task, and I see you helping them from the sides.. but there is nothing more dull than water and phones…. As internet marketers, product creation is ESSENTIAL to SUCCESS, and it would have been really neat to actually witness something realistic. I know I have a bunch of product ideas… dont they all? Couldnt they have combined their brain talents and produced SOMETHING?
The reason the execution challenges are not succeeding .. meaning one team is repeatedly LOSING.. the other team isnt really WINNING.. as opposed to the immunity tasks, is due to the combination of talents and inability to tap into them properly. They keep repeating the same problems in the judgement room yet people keep volunteering to be the leaders. Lesson #1 – being a leader is NIM suicide!
If you think I am insulting the show, forgive me. I find the show fascinating from beginning to end, but I am too personally involved to have a real objective opinion.
Lesson # 2 – Know thy limitations, be honest with your strengths, weaknesses, and confront them. So hear goes nothing:
I know that I sell myself short, great things are right around the corner, I am a nice, honest, and ethical in business, and I would have kicked a$$ on that show. As it stands now, I would have been like the multi-talented Jason Marshall, yet with the IM skills to back it up! My weakness? I spend most of my time telling other people how to make money online instead of doing it for myself.. How to overcome it? Have patience, a plan, JV partners, and
outsource, outsource, outsource.
My new online friend Big Jason Henderson got kicked off the show, which wasnt entirely a surprise from the previous episodes. I think he was definitely misunderstood and came off as a villian and just NOT what I think he really is. Frankly to me he seemed pretty shy and passive on the show.. , which he seems anything BUT in real life.. makes you wonder about that cutting room floor.
So Big Jason.. possibly all will be revealed, and possibly not, but how did you feel about how the other contestants spoke about you, and why were you so dissed? P.S – I really like what you said about your email offering a support desk link. You should have gotten points for that.
Now you better leave me a comment here or else.
The featured coach on the Next Internet Millionaire Episode 2 was Armand Morin. Armand is the head of BigSeminar – an internet marketing networking seminar weekend conference that takes place bi-annually in my good ol sweet hometown of Atlanta GA. What I did not know about Armand – that he is a branding expert.. which I find kinda bizarre since I have been on 100 different lists for years –
So what did we learn??
4 things:
1) No matter how big or small your company/whatever is.. you NEED a Logo – it’s not reserved for the big timers.
2) Increase your Potential with ‘Obvious Marketing’ – give people that which they came to see – make it clear and obvious what and who you are about through your brand, look and feel. Dont nickel and dime on the face you want to present, since that is probably your best money spent to secure loyalty.
3) Once you sell them once, you will have a much easier time selling them twice.. but make sure you are poised for that backend pitch/sale.
4) Domains should have 5 letters or not have 5 letters (didnt hear that part too clearly) and have no dashes. To which I have to say S*#T!!!! I have like 25 sites with dashes in the domains, all purchased after it was suggested TO buy dashes.
NOT Impressed with:
In the judgement room, Joel Comm is asking most of the contestants who they think should be ‘sandboxed’. When he approaches Laura Martin, you can tell she has planned NOT to answer. Joel is visibly annoyed.. and says something like I am going to give you one last chance (or what? you will be sandboxed? Guess what.. you should have held out Laura for your principles, since you were sandboxed anyways) .. he says something about this being the game and “c’mon, this is business”.
Yes. This is the game, but NO.. THIS IS NOT BUSINESS. I hope as heck it isnt!! Business is about honesty and integrity. Business relationships are about serving others. Reality shows are about entertainment and opportunity. This is probably a big reason Jonathan Kraft, who made it clear he lives by these principles in his video, was not selected after the 2nd round.
In Joel’s defense, as we were submitting our 2nd round audition videos, and reading more from online searches about what we could expect if selected, this was the time to come to terms with the nature of this game, and decide ‘can I play or not’? That doesnt mean it is easy.. its just entertainment.
Non Reality:
Armand, Joel, and any other successful online marketer would OUTSOURCE their work, and not be taking out the scissors and glue. Although I take that back! Joel did outsource it – to the contestants.. but hey Joel.. I can help you outsource for MUCH MUCH CHEAPER ..
Back to Logos/Branding… I didnt really create the Logo for this blog.. It sort of happened in a long boring story. I know I am talking about my assent to earning an online income, becoming an internet millionaire, amongst other how-to’s, product reviews, what have you..
Any suggestions for a more appropriate Banner/Logo?
Generalization coming up! I have heard multiple times from many individuals that ADD (attention deficit disorder) is required to acheive (online) success.. this is how it goes down:
ADD stimulates creativity. Creativity stimulates product creation/development. Product creation/development generates $$$.
As I have said, if you are looking to earn big money in the Internet Marketing field, you NEED to create. Unless you are a premier affiliate marketer, niche marketer, coach, etc., (and even so), this is a field which requires creation. I believe it is one of the single greatest reasons people have a hard time making a buck despite their efforts.
They dont GET THAT.
You NEED TO Create.
There is however a little discrepancy in this logic however, since you ADD’ers are all over the place, and product development clearly requires focus and determination.
Maybe that just answered it?
Determination and Will should be able to overcome almost any obstacle, including the all too often and way over diagnosed ADD. I am still undecided about myself – perhaps I am just a creative, but very busy mom. Although not sure that excuse works for why I have 13 browser windows open at any given time.
The first featured Internet Coach on the reality show of The Next Internet Millionaire was Mark Joyner, aka the ‘Godfather of Internet Marketing’ and creator of simpleology.
(as an aside.. maybe you are wondering why I, first runner up, major upset, big disappointment, admit to watching the show, and by mentioning it, I am even promoting it. Yes, welcome to the world of a GROWN UP . I was actually surprised to feel ‘missed’ and the gaping hole where I should have been. I did not expect it. I dont think it is mutually exclusive to say I see where I could have added value and been an asset, and that I dont think I deserve it more than the others, (hmm well maybe). To the producers.. I would eventually appreciate a follow up email why I was 1st runner up. )
How was that for shifting focus?
Simpleology is known as ‘The Simple Science of Getting What you Want’. If I learned one RELEVANT thing from the first episode of the show it the rule of straight lines. You draw one dot on the left side of a page, and a right dot on the right side of the page. Then discuss your daily activities (unclear if they mean in general or when you start work), and see how far you veer off from creating a straight line from one dot to the other.
All I have to say is one thing. OY VEY!!
This is ME:
My ‘law of straight lines’ resembles one of my childrens’ connect the dots worksheet!
As I write this blog, I have a guy in the other room building a piece of furniture I bought, a friend over helping to organize the stuff going in it, writing a post concurrantly in 2 other blogs, writing a salesletter for a product I created, checking out the website who hired me for consultation, composing a list of requirements to another blogger who will be helping me tweak the other 2 blogs mentioned, checking out the emails for my part-time job, running a load of laundry and defrosting food for later, composing an update for my outsourcer for a new website, etc.. The baby is absent from this list, when he is usually a primary role, since this is my one morning a week that my Mom is watching him.
Please respond with ONE way that you have worked to maintain better focus, and have less jags in that straight line. I will collect the list and make a post with your website included!
Let me start:
One way to stay focused:
1. Deadlines are very helpful, so I pretend I am my own ‘boss’ and that I have to meet my deadline. I dont like to disappoint anyone, including myself!
That may not be a good one, but hey.. this is why I turn to you..
