We discussed Adsense, now it’s time for Adwords.
Then again, people often use Adwords to earn from Adsense.. so a complete education is required to fully understand your online earning potential.
Lets try to keep it simple. The basic uses of Adwords:
1. Have a website where you want to get more traffic? Sign up for an account at Google, choose keywords, how much you would be willing to spend per click, and your daily budget.. Then you are set. If you look up almost ANY term/s on Google, you will usually find on the top of the search results and to the right of the page, the Google sponsored search results. That is where your ad will be placed. In addition, your ads will be placed on other relevant websites. For example, if you had a website selling costumes, you could pay for traffic with keywords relating to costumes. If someone has a website about halloween, and they place the code on their page for Google Adsense, then your google adwords campaign will show up on this site. Advertising, Search Engine Marketing, Performance, and Media companies will all have Google Adwords (Pay-Per-Click) specialists on staff to bring traffic to their clients websites. This is the most general basic use of Adwords.
2. There is very big business in Google Adwords, typically known as ‘Google Cash’. I like to call it ‘Andrea Cash’ since I came up with the idea a year or two before it came out, but the concept was sooo new at the time, that it was beyond me (and my employer) that it could be a HUGE wave and make me a millionaire, as it should have, and we just settled for making a couple $100 more per month (well he settled for that – I just made my same ‘ol salary). So what is it?? This is when you sign up to an affiliate program, and you purchase adwords to bring a visitor directly to the affiliates page. This has become very competitive, but remains very lucrative. If a mortgage company will pay you $120 for a lead (name + phone number), then you can imagine how it would be worth it to buy some keywords that visitors searching for mortgages will click on, and assist with the sign ups. However, each click costs you money, eating into your total profit. But wouldn’t you spend $60 to earn $120? Not if you had to repeat the work everyday, but if you could get it set up that the ads come out in the locations, times of day, at the price you want (all determined in your adwords account), then it is reasonable to get this working on auto pilot. Imagine doing this for several programs, in several different verticals – you could be making nice money. While you sleep! Yes, I do know people that earn $500 per day spending about 3 hours per day working on this.
3. Google Arbitrage. Not all clicks are created equal. A lot of people are counting on this!! If your system is set up to earn revenues from Google Adsense and you are not getting enough traffic – buy your traffic! You need to buy low and sell high.. sounds like a familiar financial concept and it doesnt differ here. You need to search for hard to find keywords, string of words, etc.., that will not cost you a lot of money. Then an individual does a search on Google, clicks on your ad, goes to your website. You then hope that they will find a BETTER adsense ad on your site, relating closer to a topic that they are searching for, click on this and make you money. This is more of a nickel and dime business, unless you really know what you are doing. The advantage to doing this, is that you are still bringing more traffic to your site, helping your ranking, and hopefully gaining the customers loyalty in other ways (we will get to those ways in a later post). I had a site which I would spend $5 per day on Adwords, earn $7 per day on Adsense, but gained customers who would come back to my site again without having to pay for it!
Recently, there has been talks of a ‘Google Slap’ – this is referring to using pay-per-click (PPC) on Google to send the visitors to a landing page, squeeze page, name page, etc. – basically a one page website looking to make a sale or get someone to sign up for something. My personal experience of how to successfully overcome this HUGE problem, besides using other PPC engines (Yahoo, MSN, etc), has been to add a blog to any sites like this. Google loves blogs.

Moving on….. going through each online opportunity, starting with Google Adsense.
The beauty of Google Adsense.. if you have any site that is getting any kind of traffic at ALL, you sign up to google adsense for FREE, add some snippets of code to your site, and BAM! You are making money. It may be just a few cents here and there, proportionate to your traffic, but it is the easiest money you can make.
I have been working for a company that has many information sites. Several of these sites have made over $5000 per MONTH on Adsense alone.
There is also a skill to the hows and where to place the code. It has been tested that a visitors eye is most likely to hit top left triangle area on the page. If you are offering a few paragraphs of text, you may put some Google text links in the middle to break it up. For example, I was just looking up how to get rid of cradle cap, so imagine if I hit on a page of content on cradle cap, and in the middle of the article I was reading, there were a few links on cradle cap cures.. I would most likely click on it, making money for the site hosting the article.
While Adsense is still a hot way to make money, there are some issues:
1. Google caught on to all those information sites that were offering NOTHING but links and some minimal content, as a way to direct visitors to just click on the adsense ads and move on. Advertisers complained and Google started banning these sites. If your site has nothing to offer, you can forget counting on Adsense to make you money. You may be able to trick the search engines and make some fast small cash, but it wont last long.
2. The business model of Adsense is actually a very poor one – the concept is to get a visitor to your site, and have them leave.. your success, and ways to make more money DEPENDS on them leaving your site!! That isnt very wise, unless of course, your site has nothing to offer, and is only geared as an ADsense earning vehicle.
As long as people will be paying to have visitors to their site, Adsense will be around. I would not encourage someone creating a NEW business to make money from Adsense, but it can certainly enhance any existing site, and help cover some of those basic costs on a site that an owner has not yet find the time to invest in as they would like.

First of all, I know it has been a RIDICULOUSLY long time since my last post. I have since given birth to a Beautiful Baby Boy. My 3rd son, and 4th child. I am a little bit of a possessed mother, and he has not been out of my hands for too long. Those times when he is, I am wiping another kids butt, cleaning, cooking and many of my other favorite (ugg) pastimes.Ok. Getting to it. I recently partnered with someone to offer local classes on How to get Started Making Money Online. The first class he spoke and I critiqued. He did a great job, with one fault. He ASSUMED. You know what they say about people who ASSUME .. He figured that these people knew what the terms Google Adsense meant, what being an affiliate is all about, and even as far as to use the words pay-per-click.
During the break, I approached some participants to get a feel of how it was going. One lady asked me what do ‘Paper Clips’ have to do with this all.. She had no clue what pay-per-click meant, so she heard it as paper clip!! They also thought that when we added adsense to our sites, we were working for Google (well that they actually hired us) and that each affiliate works for the respective companies. NO, we said. ANYONE can do this… we had to repeat that Mulitple times. ANYONE CAN DO THIS. It is EASY to MAKE Money online. You may have to work a little harder for the first buck, but if you can make $1, you can make a LOT MORE…
YOU CAN MAKE A LIVING ONLINE.
This is when I realized that we have to take a few steps back and we since came up with an intro to the intro course, just going through all the terminology. I am going to spend a few blogs going through each major method of making money online, defining the system, and if I have time to get it together, offer as many CHEAP resources as I can get my hands on to offer step by step systems. IF it is not Step by Step.. it is worth nothing. I still follow methods step by step and I have been at this for 6 years!

There are a few truths about making money on the web. Some awesome truths. YOu can be your OWN boss, choose your OWN hours, and work from your OWN home – actually ANYWHERE for that matter. YOu can create a system where you are earning passive income, as in money in your sleep, and yes there may be some moments, when you launch a product, or promote to your list, where you earn a LOT more, while the passive income carries you through the rest of the days.
However, to get to the place that you are constantly pitched – where you can go on a vacation when you want, and purchase the car/house of your dreams, not to mention, work a LOT less – is total BS. Not only do I find that other Internet Marketers are addicted to their work, it follows the creed of general human psychology…once you earn 10 grand, you want to earn 20! So on and so forth. Most of the big name GURUS promoting to you left and right, one product after another as they come up… are still in their ‘war room’ or similarly named facility working on their next JV, their next coaching club, product launch, and their next Million. Not moving to the Bahamas.
Listen, I realize a million dollars in today’s world is not what it used to be, but people NEED to know that this is a business where you are still WORKING, and a LOT.
Sometimes it even feels greedy. Several of these marketers get their hands on everything that comes out, and I find myself unable to even read their emails anymore. Everything is the GREATEST, and you cant succeed WITHOUT THIS!! Granted, I too would want these folks promoting my products, but give your lists and give yourself a Break! Dont tell us so often that you dont have to work anymore and not show us anything but more and more tireless efforts on your part to have more of the action!
Ok, so perhaps I am getting off topic
. I rarely have this opportunity for such focus. The power just went out in our whole neighborhood, and the only thing lighting up my place is this computer screen.Bottom Line – You can expect to put in long hours and a LOT of effort until you get ONE thing started. Then instead of giving yourself permission to relas, you will most likely chase the next dollar. I know I would. However, while I do fall asleep on my computer more days than not, I do ENJOY this WORK. I even crave it, sometimes waking up early, after 3 hours of sleep, to race back to the computer. It would be hard to say that about your standard ‘JOB’.
On the other hand, if I were working a part/full time job, leaving work behind to come home, there would be a different kind of freedom – this is what people dont tell you. The freedom to spend some time with my children, clean my home, cook more wholesome meals, and connect with other friends and family, all the stuff I have neglected in my race to earn myself more vacations that I never take

I have had this domain name for a while, and had every intention to start my own ‘internet marketing’ tips style blog/website, but while so busy with my own internet marketing ventures… simply never found the time.
On one of my opt-in sites, I received a letter that has not only given me the juices with which to start, but also a moral responsibilty to help out the confused… as I was for a very long time, and …. as I still am from time to time!
Here is Marks letter …
“Hi Andrea,
I’ve heard so much about working from home or setting up a home base
business on the net. It’s either a con job or the expensive program simply
just dosn’t work no matter how hard I put my effort in. Honestly I am
not of resources you can say that this is my final try. For a start I don’t
have much capital anymore due to what I’ve spend over these so call work
from home program. It’s either expensive after converting it to Malaysian
Ringgit or these so call companies just remain silent after they get your
cash..Now a days you can consider me a little bit sceptic, please forgive me if I
sounds like one.. but I would like to know what how does your system
works and how much whould it take as I don’t have much cash left or am not
sure if this might be the right one for me. Thanks”Now, this letter from Mark could have been written by 100′s of individuals and even mirrors thoughts I myself had not so many years ago. maybe even months.
Despite the information overload, products being jammed down my throat from one or another marketer (with great irresistable copy), I too could not come up for air or see the money on the trees.. then it was like a lightbulb going off in my head, where suddenly I was able to visualize the process and the concepts and how to acheive them.
I was able to succeed by stripping it all down to ONE area that I felt I could most likely succeed, and within the most reasonable amount of time. When you have that up and running, you go to the next area, and DONT WAVER or MOVE ON.. until you have seen the fruits of that labor. Perhaps you will say.. well if that takes time, I cant afford it, so instead you go purchase the next product instead… how has that helped you SAVE money???
I wrote Mark back…. asking for more background information so I can give him a better response. What would you say?
